Public comments must comply with the three-minute time limit.ĭistrict Board meetings must be open to the public. Those wishing to address matters not on the agenda can do so immediately prior to the adjournment to closed session or, in the absence of a closed session, at the conclusion of all other public session business. Members of the public may address the Board regarding items on the agenda as these items are taken up by the Board. Persons wishing to address the Board should complete a yellow card entitled, "Request to Address Board of Trustees" and submit it to the Recording Secretary. The Board respects the rights of members of the public to comment on matters under its jurisdiction. Minutes of the meetings have the status of official legal documents and must include a record of each Board action. The law also stipulates that: "The governing Board shall act by majority vote of all the membership constituting the governing Board." Individual members of the Board of Trustees have no legal authority except at official Board meetings. A quorum, which is a majority of the elected Board membership, must be present. Official meetings are regularly scheduled meetings, legally called special meetings, and adjourned meetings. The first Board meeting of each month focuses on regular business items, while the second meeting of the month is an information/discussion session, with business items handled as needed. Any changes to the date or location of meetings, and of all special meetings, will be posted on this webpage and in hardcopy format on the first floor of the Anaheim Campus. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month in the Board Room of the Anaheim Campus, 1830 W. Regular meetings of the Board are held at 5:30 p.m. Unlawful Discrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Assault/ Misconduct.
